Pernambuco launches strategic study to boost digital infrastructure

The Government of Pernambuco has launched a strategic study to evaluate and strengthen the state's digital infrastructure ecosystem. The initiative aims to identify opportunities and map challenges to boost regional competitiveness and attract both public and private investments.

Conducted by LIDE at the request of several state secretariats—including Science, Technology and Innovation (SECTI-PE), Administration (SAD), and Economic Development (SDEC)—the technical development of the study is being handled by Deloitte. The project is financed by Pernambuco-based companies Grupo Cavalcanti Petribu, Estratégica Engenharia, and Grupo Dislub Equador through LIDE.

The study will address critical areas such as fiber optic network expansion, international connectivity via submarine cables, and the necessary conditions for data infrastructure development. These efforts are intended to meet the rising demands of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital services, which require increased connectivity, data processing, storage, cybersecurity, and energy supply.
