Pernambuco police investigate gang rape allegations at school

The Civil Police of Pernambuco are investigating reports of gang rape involving two 14-year-old female students at a school in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the Recife metropolitan area.

According to the victims' lawyer, Luanny Porto, the assaults were allegedly carried out by five students from the same class, aged between 14 and 16. One victim reported being attacked during a school break when a group of students allegedly turned off the lights, tripped her, and committed sexual violence. A second victim reported a similar incident occurring approximately one month prior.

The defense claims that after the first victim reported the incident to school management, the director reprimanded her for telling her mother, stating the school would handle the matter internally. The victims have been referred to the Legal Medicine Institute (IML) for examinations, and families have filed official police reports.
