Pernambuco police seize 17 cameras used by organized crime

The Military Police of Pernambuco seized 17 monitoring cameras during ‘Operation Ponto Cego’ in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, within the Recife Metropolitan Region. The equipment had been illegally installed on utility poles across the neighborhoods of Sucupira, Pacheco, and Canaã.

Authorities stated that organized crime members used the devices to monitor movements within the communities where they operate. Among the seized items was a high-technology camera valued at approximately R$ 7,000. All confiscated materials were sent to the Cavaleiro Police Station for legal proceedings. No arrests have been recorded in connection with this specific operation as of the latest update.
