Pernambuco political activity intensifies with major rallies and policy proposals

Political activity in Pernambuco has intensified with major movements from both sides of the aisle. Senator Humberto Costa (PT) has expanded his political base in the state's North Coast, securing support from mayors in Itapissuma and Araçoiaba, as well as several local council presidents. During his travels through the Agreste region, Costa also advocated for the expansion of the Farmácia Popular program, proposing that it evolve from a medication distribution service into a comprehensive care model including laboratory exams and chronic disease monitoring.

In contrast, Mendonça Filho led a large-scale conservative mobilization in Recife's Boa Viagem Avenue. During the event, Mendonça Filho declared his candidacy for the Senate, positioning himself as a voice for conservative and Christian values. He criticized the concentration of power within the Supreme Federal Court and expressed opposition to the PT, while also announcing a future mobilization scheduled for September 16 involving Flávio Bolsonaro.
