Pernik to renovate 21 residential buildings with European funds

The Municipality of Pernik has announced progress on energy renovation projects for 21 multi-family residential buildings. These projects are 100% funded through European programs, specifically the ‘Regional Development’ Program 2021–2027 via the Just Transition Fund.

The renovations include thermal insulation, facade repairs, and roof updates. The primary objectives are to improve living conditions, reduce household energy costs, and achieve at least a 30% saving in primary energy, aiming for a minimum energy consumption class of ‘B’ for the buildings.

Contracts have already been signed with contractors for 19 of the 21 buildings. Deputy Mayor Stefan Krastev noted that the municipality achieved a 100% success rate for the submitted project proposals under the available fund constraints. The implementation period for these projects is 24 months from the signing of the respective financial assistance contracts.
