Peronism factions organize strategic alliances for upcoming elections

Peronist leaders in Argentina are engaging in various meetings and strategic maneuvers to build a competitive electoral alternative to current leadership. While there is a shared goal of maintaining unity to face Javier Milei, different factions are emerging with distinct approaches.

In one regional context, Juan Pablo Luque is promoting a strategy to broaden the movement beyond traditional structures, seeking to “horizontalize” the party through agreements with figures like Dante Bowen and meetings with local business leaders. Another movement focuses on party reorganization, while a third is gaining momentum in Comodoro Rivadavia.

On a national level, recent activities highlight efforts to consolidate leadership. A tribute to the late José Manuel de la Sota brought together key figures including Martín Llaryora, Juan Schiaretti, and Sergio Massa, alongside other prominent leaders like Gerardo Zamora and Axel Kicillof’s associates. These interactions suggest a push to bridge different sectors of the movement, including the “cordobesismo” and federal Peronism, despite ongoing internal tensions.
