Argentine political parties reorganize ahead of 2027 elections
Political movements across various Argentine provinces are restructuring ahead of the 2027 elections. In Mendoza, the Partido Justicialista (PJ) has scheduled internal elections for November 29, 2026, to resolve leadership paralysis and fragmentation between sectors led by the Félix brothers, Kirchnerism, and local mayors like Flor Destéfanis.
In Chaco, the PJ has launched a digital pre-affiliation system to strengthen its territorial structure as it debates using open internal elections to select candidates for 2027. Meanwhile, in Entre Ríos, discussions are underway regarding potential candidates for the 2027 governorship, with José Eduardo Lauritto emerging as a figure of interest amidst internal debates.
In Chubut, Governor Ignacio Torres has begun outlining the 2027 electoral landscape, proposing the ‘Despierta Chubut’ front and mentioning several potential candidates for Comodoro Rivadavia. Additionally, former San Juan Governor Sergio Uñac has called for internal Peronist elections to define new leadership and establish a political counterweight to the current national administration.
