Přerov: Homeless man rescued from garbage trucks three times in one week

A 50-year-old homeless man, identified as Boris, was rescued from garbage trucks on three separate occasions within a single week in Přerov, Czech Republic. Seeking shelter from rain, the man fell asleep inside waste containers, only to be discovered when the refuse vehicles began emptying them.

On two of these occasions, a technical services worker, Pavel Složil, spotted the man via an internal vehicle camera. The worker noted that the reaction window to prevent the man from being crushed is approximately 15 seconds. Police assisted in retrieving the man from the vehicle using a ladder after he became stuck in the collection area.

The man, who recently moved to Přerov from Znojmo in search of work, stated that he sought warmth in the containers during heavy rain. Following the third incident, he expressed intentions to return to Znojmo to seek employment as a bricklayer.
