Přerov southwest bypass receives zoning decision
The building authority has issued a zoning decision for the first stage of the southwest bypass in Přerov. This project, funded by the Olomouc Region, aims to alleviate traffic congestion on city roads and improve the flow of vehicles between northern and southern Moravia.
Construction is estimated to begin between 2028 and 2029, with a projected duration of two to three years. The costs for this first phase are expected to range between 600 and 700 million CZK. Following the legal finalization of the zoning decision, experts will begin working on the project documentation required for a building permit.
The first stage includes the reconstruction of Tovární Street, the construction of two new roundabouts on the I/55 road, connections to industrial areas, and the demolition of old garages to be replaced by new ones. Additionally, the project will include the expansion of the Mádrův underpass beneath the railway tracks to improve access for both pedestrians and road traffic, a modification added following discussions between regional and city leadership.
