Perplexity AI expands Model Council to Computer platform for multi‑model analysis

Perplexity AI integrated its Model Council feature into the Perplexity Computer platform, making the multi‑model deliberation capability a native part of its agentic digital‑worker service. The integration went live on 6 March 2026 and lets users query several frontier models—such as GPT‑5.4, Claude Opus 4.6 and Gemini 3.1 Pro—simultaneously.

The Model Council runs each prompt on separate sub‑agents, then a synthesizer model collates the results, highlighting agreements, disagreements and unique insights. Users can now configure councils of two to eight models, choose between frontier and open‑weight options, and generate output formats like reports or slide decks. The feature, together with new voice‑mode interaction and customizable skills, is offered to Perplexity’s Max and Enterprise subscription tiers.

Perplexity positions the tool for ambiguous business questions, legal queries and risk assessments, arguing that consensus across models boosts confidence while identified gaps signal areas for deeper analysis.
