Perrino Hospital neurosurgery department faces labor dispute

Labor unions are disputing management practices within the neurosurgery department of the Perrino Hospital in Brindisi, Italy.

The UIL FP union has issued a formal warning to the leadership of ASL Brindisi and the Labor Inspectorate. The union alleges that a specialized auxiliary worker was abruptly removed from night shifts without written justification or a new organizational plan. UIL FP suggests this may be an undeclared disciplinary sanction, noting that the worker had previously reported a hostile work environment. The union also points out that the removal appears to contradict a previous written instruction from the ASL General Director to reinstate the employee to the regular rotation.

In contrast, the FP CGIL Brindisi union has addressed the rising tensions, cautioning against the characterization of all organizational changes as retaliatory. The union argues that labeling every management decision as punitive lacks objective support and risks delegitimizing the department head. FP CGIL maintains that while professional collaboration must be restored, claims of retaliatory conduct require concrete and verifiable evidence rather than isolated interpretations of administrative acts.
