Persebaya Surabaya unveils 36-player squad and adopts VALD Performance tech for 2026 season
Persebaya Surabaya announced a 36‑player roster ahead of the 2026 Piala Presiden and the 2026/27 Super League Indonesia, stressing a target to compete for a top‑table finish. Director Candra Wahyudi highlighted the club’s openness during a media day at GBT Stadium and noted that four Elite Pro Academy players and twelve U‑23 players are included in the squad.
The club also introduced its use of the VALD Performance system, a sports‑science platform featuring five high‑tech devices such as ForceDecks and ForceFrame, to monitor players’ physical condition, prevent injuries and individualise training. CEO Azrul Ananda and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pratama Wicaksana Widjaja explained that the technology, adopted in partnership with DBL Indonesia, follows standards used by Premier League clubs and was integrated before the national football federation’s rollout. The data generated supports coaches, medical staff and scouting efforts, forming part of a longer‑term infrastructure that includes a new gym and comprehensive medical examinations.
