Persebaya Surabaya focuses on youth development during league break

Persebaya Surabaya is utilizing the current competition break in the 2026/2027 Super League to focus on player evaluation and youth development. The coaching staff plans to integrate four or five players from Persebaya Junior into senior training sessions to assess their potential for the first team.

Coach Bernardo Tavares stated that age is not a barrier to participation, noting that players aged 15 to 18 will be considered if they demonstrate the necessary quality and readiness. The initiative aims to provide junior players with professional experience while expanding the club's internal talent options.
