Persebaya Surabaya prepares defensive strategy for PSS Sleman match

Persebaya Surabaya is preparing specific defensive strategies ahead of their Super League 2026/2027 match against PSS Sleman at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Coach Bernardo Tavares has emphasized the need for strict defensive discipline to counter PSS Sleman’s physical advantages. Tavares noted that the opposing squad features several tall players, including attackers exceeding two meters in height, making aerial attacks a primary concern. Additionally, the Persebaya coaching staff is monitoring the threat posed by Japanese striker Hiromu Tanaka, who scored twice in the previous match, as well as the speed of winger Riko Simanjuntak.
