Persebaya Surabaya to face Penang FC following Piala Presiden victory

Following their victory in the 2026 Piala Presiden, Persebaya Surabaya has resumed training to prepare for an upcoming friendly match against Malaysia's Penang FC. The match is scheduled to take place at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Persebaya midfielder Gledson Paixao noted that while the team is enjoying the recent championship success, the squad remains focused on future targets and maintaining physical fitness. Coach Bernardo Tavares emphasized that the match against Penang FC is a vital part of the preseason process to develop both individual and collective team performance.
