Perseids Meteor Shower Peaks Aug 12‑13 2026 Across Czech Republic
The annual Perseids meteor shower will reach its zenith on the night of 12 to 13 August 2026, offering observers in the Czech Republic an exceptional display. Astronomers expect the radiant to produce 50‑80 visible meteors per hour, with peak rates potentially reaching up to 100 meteors per hour under the dark, moon‑free skies that follow a new moon.
The same night will also feature a partial solar eclipse visible across the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with the Moon covering more than 86 % of the Sun’s disc at maximum. Fully eclipsed views will be possible in Greenland, Iceland and Spain. Ideal viewing conditions call for locations away from city light pollution, such as open fields or hills, and no telescopes are required.
