Persepolis appoints Mehdi Tartar as head coach after earlier coaching talks collapse
Iranian football club Persepolis announced the signing of Mehdi Tartar as its new head coach, ending a period of uncertainty surrounding the position. Earlier negotiations with Dragan Skoucich fell through, prompting the club to explore other candidates. Reports also mentioned that former national team assistant Yahi Golmohammadi was being considered, but the club ultimately chose Tartar, who has previously managed several Iranian clubs including Gol‑Gohar and Malavan.
Tartar, 57, takes over a team that had been managed by Brazilian Ousmar Vira for the previous season. His appointment is expected to stabilize the squad ahead of the upcoming league campaign.
