Perseus Mining reports US$1.5 billion revenue and record African economic contribution

Perseus Mining reported a significant increase in financial performance and economic contribution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. Driven by higher realized gold prices, the company’s revenue rose 19% year-over-year to US$1.5 billion, with profit before tax increasing 27% to US$716 million.

The company’s total economic contribution to its African host economies reached US$1.18 billion, a 46% increase from the previous year. Côte d’Ivoire received the largest portion at US$556.5 million, followed by Ghana at US$397.4 million and Tanzania at US$229.4 million. This contribution includes wages, local supplier purchases, and government payments via taxes and royalties.

While higher gold prices boosted margins, the company noted increased costs due to transitioning to new ore sources at the Yaouré and Edikan operations, which featured higher waste concentrations and lower grades. Additionally, profitability was impacted by new royalty regimes in host countries, including a 2 percentage point increase in Côte d’Ivoire for gold prices above US$2,000 per ounce and a new scaled royalty system in Ghana.
