Persib Bandung announced former assistant coach Igor Tolic as the new head coach, succeeding Bojan Hodak after his resignation. Tolic, who previously worked alongside Hodak, said the team will represent the city, its community and its millions of supporters with pride and responsibility.

His first assignment will be the Shopee Cup ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) 2026, where Persib will compete in Group B against Johor Darul Ta'zim (Malaysia), Port FC (Thailand), Lion City Sailors (Singapore), Cong An Ha Noi (Vietnam) and Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng (Cambodia). The tournament marks Persib's debut in the regional competition, with Indonesia fielding two clubs – the champions Persib and runners‑up Borneo FC. Tolic expressed enthusiasm for testing the squad at the highest Southeast Asian club level and pledged to unite the fans for the challenges ahead.
