Persib Bandung secures historic win over FC Seoul in South Korea

Persib Bandung made history by becoming the first Indonesian club to win an official match on South Korean soil, defeating FC Seoul 1-0 in their AFC Champions League Two Group E opener at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. Julio Cesar scored the decisive goal in the first half. This victory marks the first time an Indonesian club has won against a South Korean opponent in Asia since 1996.

Persib coach Igor Tolic noted that the win, following a recent loss to Persija Jakarta, has helped build player mentality and resilience. The team now shifts focus back to the BRI Super League, where they face Persijap Jepara.

In domestic league action, the East Java derby between Arema FC and Persik Kediri ended in a 1-1 draw at Kanjuruhan Stadium. The match was marked by controversy, as both managers, Marcos Santos and Marcos Reina Torres, criticized the officiating of referee Dika Rahmat Hidayat. Zanadin Fariz opened the scoring for Persik, while Careca equalized for Arema via a penalty.

Other Super League developments include Madura United maintaining a perfect record with two wins, preparing to host PSIM Yogyakarta, and Persebaya Surabaya expressing caution regarding Garudayaksa FC's foreign players ahead of their upcoming match.
