Persib Bandung defeats FC Seoul in historic AFC Champions League Two win

Persib Bandung secured a historic 1-0 victory against FC Seoul at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in the opening match of the AFC Champions League Two 2026-2027 Group E. The win marks the first time an Indonesian club has defeated a South Korean representative in this competition.

Julio Cesar scored the decisive goal in the 5th minute following a header assist from Marc Klok. The result places Persib Bandung at the top of Group E. The match also featured the Asian competition debut for Persib midfielder Ikwan Ali Tanamal, who expressed pride in contributing to the three points despite the high-pressure atmosphere of playing against a strong South Korean side.

Prior to this match, FC Seoul entered the competition as leaders of the K League 1, while Persib Bandung sought to recover from recent domestic setbacks in the BRI Super League.
