Persib Bandung drawn into tough Group B of ASEAN Club Championship

The draw for the 2026‑27 ASEAN Club Championship (Shopee Cup) placed Indonesian club Persib Bandung in Group B, dubbed the “Group of Hell”. The group includes Johor Darul Ta'zim (Malaysia), Port FC (Thailand), Lion City Sailors (Singapore), Cong An Ha Noi (Vietnam), Svay Rieng (Cambodia) and the winner of the play‑off round. The ceremony was held in Jakarta and was attended by AFF President Khiev Sameth and PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir.

Persib’s manager, Umuh Muchtar, said the club now faces a demanding schedule, competing in the domestic Super League, AFC Champions League Two, the ASEAN Club Championship and the President’s Cup. He emphasized that the team will treat every competition seriously, noting, “Apalagi ada Piala Presiden juga. Kita engga main‑main lah, semuanya kita ikut ya.” The club also acknowledges the need for larger budgets and careful player rotation to cope with the intensified fixture list.
