Persib Bandung eyes new foreign signings as it braces for a packed 2026/27 season

Persib Bandung commissioner Umuh Muchtar announced that the club is quietly scouting new foreign players to strengthen the squad for the 2026/27 campaign. Several current overseas players are leaving, including French defender Layvin Kurzawa whose contract ends after the 2025/26 season, while Patricio Matricardi, Frans Putros and Andrew Jung are already free agents. Striker Sergio Castel remains under contract until June 2026, but Indonesian club Persik Kediri has expressed interest.

New head coach Igor Tolic highlighted a congested schedule for the upcoming season, with Persib set to compete in the domestic league, the ASEAN Shopee Cup, the AFC Champions League Two, and possibly a revived Indonesia Cup. The club plans to begin pre‑season training in early July and will tailor its preparations to meet the demands of both domestic and international competitions.
