Persib Bandung wins 2026 Dewata Challenge Series

Persib Bandung has won the 2026 Dewata Challenge Series preseason tournament after a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against Bali United at Stadion Kapten I Wayan Dipta in Gianyar. Persib secured the title with a perfect record, winning both of their matches: a 3-0 victory over Sabah FC and the final against Bali United.

In the deciding match, Persib trailed 1-2 until the 88th minute. Balsa Sekulic scored the equalizer, followed by a 90+1 minute header from Gabriel Mutombo to seal the win. Goals for Persib were also provided by Marc Klok. Bali United's goals were scored by Brandon Wilson and Joao Ferrari.

Coach Igor Tolic praised the squad's mental resilience and aggressive response to being behind, noting that the players are beginning to grasp his tactical approach. However, he also identified defensive coordination as an area for improvement before the official Super League season and the AFC Champions League Two playoffs.

Regarding player availability, defender Sandy Walsh remains sidelined due to an injury sustained while playing for the Indonesian national team, though other returning internationals like Eliano Reijnders and Ragnar Oratmangoen are available for selection.
