Persib Bandung signs Croatian defender Danijel Loncar

Persib Bandung has officially signed Croatian center-back Danijel Loncar to a two-year contract to strengthen their defense for the 2026/2027 season. The 29-year-old defender joins from Polish club Pogon Szczecin and brings significant European experience, having previously played for NK Osijek.

Coach Igor Tolic requested the signing to provide squad depth, as the club is set to compete in four different tournaments, including the Super League, Shopee Cup ASEAN Club Championship, and AFC Champions League Two. Loncar, standing 189 cm tall, is noted for his versatility as he can also play as a full-back.

The acquisition has created a registration dilemma for the club. With Loncar's arrival, Persib's roster of foreign players has reached 12, exceeding the Super League's maximum registration quota of 11. Club officials stated that the final decision regarding which players to register for the domestic league will be left to the coaching staff.
