The Jakmania boycotts Persija Jakarta vs Brisbane Roar match over ticket prices

The Jakmania, the primary supporter group for Persija Jakarta, has announced a boycott of the upcoming friendly match against Brisbane Roar at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) scheduled for August 29, 2026. The protest is driven by dissatisfaction over increased ticket prices, with lower tier tickets priced at Rp150,000 and upper tier at Rp130,000, which supporters claim does not reflect their previous aspirations.

Persija's Sports Director, Bambang Pamungkas, clarified that the price adjustments are intended to support team operations and account for inflation, aiming to have ticketing contribute 10 to 15 percent of total expenditures. He noted that special ticket allocations are being prepared for loyal members through the supporter group's leadership.

Persija head coach Shin Tae-yong and captain Rizky Ridho expressed concern regarding the boycott. Shin Tae-yong stated he was surprised by the news and emphasized that a club's strength relies on its fans, while Ridho urged both management and supporters to find a solution to maintain team harmony ahead of the 2026/2027 Super League season.
