Persija Jakarta targets title with new coach Shin Tae‑yong and striker Witan Sulaeman

Persija Jakarta winger Witan Sulaeman, 24, said he is "very enthusiastic about the arrival of coach Shin Tae‑yong at Persija" and eager to work together in the upcoming season. Shin, the former South Korean national team coach, has signed a three‑year contract to lead Persija starting next season. The club has set a championship target for the Super League 2026‑2027, hoping to deliver a league title as a gift for Jakarta’s 500th anniversary. "I want to show my best for Persija Jakarta next season and help bring the trophy for Jakarta’s golden birthday," Sulaeman added. The league is scheduled to begin on 4 September 2026, and both player and coach aim to end Persija’s title drought.
