Persistent heat and clearing fog observed in France's Ventoux region

Temperatures in the Ventoux area of France remained unusually high on 6 August 2026, reaching 29.2 °C at sunset, compared with 28.8 °C the previous night. An afternoon reading of 34.1 °C far exceeded the normal 27.9 °C, indicating the heat wave continued even after the orange alert was lifted earlier that morning.

A recent photograph shows that the low‑lying fog previously visible in the valleys has largely disappeared, leaving a mostly clear sky. Both images were posted on the Infoclimat weather‑photo platform, documenting the ongoing heat and the fading mist.
