Personal Organizer Bárbara Marçal Advises on Kitchen Organization

Brazilian personal organizer Bárbara Marçal explains that effective kitchen organization starts with decluttering, not buying new containers. She says, “I don’t see errors, only enemies of organization. Accumulation is the main one, followed by attachment,” emphasizing the need to discard unused items.

After clearing excess, she recommends emptying cupboards before arranging pantry items, checking product dates, and assigning a dedicated place for each category. Daily‑use items should stay within easy reach, “basically at eye level,” while occasional tools can be stored higher. The approach aims to create a functional system that supports everyday routines rather than merely improving aesthetics.

The kitchen makeover was designed by the interior studio Concretize Interiors and featured in ELLE Brazil’s lifestyle section.
