Starlux Airlines leads Nagoya-Taipei route load factor for July 2026

Starlux Airlines recorded the highest passenger load factor of 93.0% on the Nagoya (Chubu) to Taipei (Taoyuan) route for July 2026, leading a competitive market involving seven different airlines.

The route features intense competition between Japanese carriers such as Japan Airlines and Peach, Taiwanese airlines including China Airlines and Tigerair Taiwan, and third-country operators like Cathay Pacific and Thai Lion Air. The overall load factor for all participating airlines on this route was 89.9%, with a total of 404 flights providing 86,712 seats and carrying 77,945 passengers.

While most carriers maintained high occupancy, Thai Lion Air struggled, ceasing operations on July 3. Starlux Airlines continues to strengthen its presence in the Nagoya market despite being a later entrant. The airline has also announced expansion plans, including increasing flights between Hakodate and Taipei and launching new services to Kaohsiung from Okinawa and Kobe in 2027.
