Pertamina announces Eco RunFest 2026 sustainability movement

Pertamina has announced the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026, positioning the event as a movement focused on human health, community, and environmental sustainability rather than just a running race or music festival.

Project Manager Didi Andrian Indra Kusuma stated that the initiative aims to integrate sustainability into every element of the event. Key sustainability efforts include the ‘Eco Jersey’ initiative, which utilizes circular economy principles by manufacturing running shirts from recycled plastic bottles and textile waste. In collaboration with Manta Liberta, the project aims to repurpose approximately 210,000 plastic bottles, totaling about 2.5 tons of plastic waste.

Additionally, the ‘Eco Innovation’ program will engage the younger generation by collaborating with the Jakarta Provincial Government. This includes roadshows to middle and high schools to encourage students to develop innovative solutions for waste management.
