Pertamina confirms subsidized fuel prices will remain stable through 2026

The Indonesian government and Pertamina have confirmed that subsidized fuel prices, specifically Pertalite and Biosolar, will remain unchanged until the end of 2026. This decision aims to maintain energy price stability and public purchasing power despite global crude oil prices exceeding USD 100 per barrel.

While subsidized fuels are protected, non-subsidized fuel prices (Jenis BBM Umum) follow a government formula and are subject to market fluctuations. Pertamax prices could potentially rise to Rp20,000 per liter if global oil price trends continue to climb.

In regional developments, Pertamina reported that fuel queues in Makassar have stabilized. Approximately 80 percent of the 45 gas stations in the area are now operating more smoothly, with reduced waiting times for citizens. This improvement is attributed to increased service capacity, including the operation of 24-hour gas stations and the addition of modular distribution points.
