Pertamina Drilling expands energy partnerships with Iceland Drilling and Weatherford

Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI) is expanding its strategic collaborations within the energy sector through new partnerships with international service providers.

PDSI has signed a memorandum of understanding with Iceland Drilling to enhance cooperation in geothermal drilling services. This partnership aims to combine Indonesia’s geothermal resources with Iceland’s drilling expertise to advance well construction and explore next-generation technologies, such as superhot rock (SHR) resources. The agreement was witnessed by representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassador of Iceland to Indonesia.

Additionally, PDSI is exploring cooperation with the Swiss-based energy services company Weatherford. This collaboration focuses on the oil, gas, and geothermal sectors, covering drilling services, formation evaluation, well construction, completion, intervention, and production optimization. The partnership also includes human resource competency development and the identification of new market opportunities through integrated digital solutions and modern technology.
