Pertamina certifies 50 UMKMs with halal label to expand market access

PT Pertamina (Persero) is facilitating halal certification for 50 micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKMs) across food and beverage, fashion, crafts, personal‑care and cosmetics sectors. The program is timed ahead of the mandatory halal‑certification rule that will take effect in October 2026, aiming to improve legal compliance, product quality and consumer confidence.

Vice President Corporate Communication Muhammad Baron said the support includes not only certification but also training, mentoring, product‑quality improvement and marketing assistance. Participants such as Minie Sudjarwo, owner of MiniesQ, noted that the halal label adds value and opens opportunities with modern retailers and other business partners.

Pertamina intends to continue the initiative as part of its broader effort to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian UMKMs and help them grow in domestic and regional markets.
