Eni to sell Indonesian upstream assets to Pertamina and Medco

Eni has signed binding agreements to sell its participating interests in several upstream assets in Indonesia's Kutei Basin, operated by the Searah joint venture between Eni and Petronas.

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) will acquire a 10% interest in the North Ganal and Rapak blocks, and increase its stake in the East Sepinggan block from 15% to 25%. These assets include the Merakes and East Merakes gas fields and the Geng North–Gehem discoveries, which are part of the North Hub gas project.

PT Medco Energi Internasional will acquire a 10% interest in the West Ganal, East Ganal, Ganal, and Muara Bakau blocks. This portfolio includes the Jangkrik field, the South Hub gas projects (Maha, Gendalo, and Gandang), and the recently discovered Geliga giant gas field, which is estimated to contain 5 trillion cubic feet of gas and 300 million barrels of condensate.

Recent exploration in the Kutei Basin has identified over 10 Tcf of gas and 650 million barrels of condensate. The completion of these transactions remains subject to customary governmental and regulatory approvals.
