Pertamina increases 3 kg LPG supply in Sulawesi
Pertamina Patra Niaga has increased the supply of 3 kg LPG by up to 65 percent in parts of South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi. This extra dropping measure aims to meet rising demand, particularly within the agricultural sector, and to maintain stock stability through August 2026.
To ensure subsidies reach the intended recipients, Pertamina is working with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration to tighten distribution. This involves integrating National Identity Number (NIK) and biometric data verification at gas stations. The initiative seeks to reduce market distortions and prevent subsidized gas from being used by ineligible parties, though officials note that digital infrastructure and technological literacy in remote areas remain significant implementation challenges.
