Pertamina initiatives connect Indonesian students to energy industry

Pertamina and industry associations are conducting various initiatives to bridge the gap between academia and the energy sector in Indonesia.

Through the IATMI Talent Development Program, 24 students from various disciplines, including petroleum and chemical engineering, participated in a field experience at the Indonesia Drilling Training Center (IDTC) in Indramayu. The program allowed students to visit drilling rigs, interact with professionals, and experience living in portacamp accommodations to understand the technical and disciplinary demands of the upstream oil and gas industry.

Additionally, Pertamina Patra Niaga hosted the Pertamina Goes to Campus (PGTC) 2026 event at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya. This forum facilitated dialogue between students, academics, and industry professionals regarding energy challenges, career development, and the competencies required to enter the workforce. The initiative aims to align academic innovation with the evolving needs of the national energy industry.
