Pertamina International Shipping launches maritime education program in Cilegon

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has launched the ‘Ocean LiteraSEA: Ocean Capacity’ program to introduce maritime ecosystems and career opportunities to students in coastal areas. Held at SD Negeri Tanjung Sekong in Cilegon, Banten, the initiative involved 50 students from SD Negeri Tanjung Sekong and SDN Widyatama.

Through interactive activities such as the ‘Ocean Challenge’ ecosystem games, maritime-themed drawing competitions, quizzes, and storytelling sessions, the program aims to broaden the horizons of coastal youth regarding the maritime industry. PIS, alongside SEAnergi volunteers, also provided educational guidance on maritime professions and academic pathways.

As part of its social and environmental responsibility, PIS revitalized the library at SD Negeri Tanjung Sekong and donated books focused on maritime themes to strengthen local literacy facilities.
