Pertamina Leads Multiple Sustainability, Youth and AI Initiatives in Indonesia

PT Pertamina (Persero) launched several programmes in 2026 aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, sustainability and digital engagement. The Pertamuda Workshop Series (PWS) began on 6 August with the theme “From Campus to Startup”, featuring Hilmy Muktati and Rudi Arifianto to help students turn ideas into impact‑driven businesses. Pertamina also earned the world’s first Green Terminal Label (GTLC) 2‑star certification for its Tanjung Sekong LPG terminal, highlighting the company’s move toward low‑carbon operations and renewable energy integration.

In the digital arena, Braze announced that Pertamina Patra Niaga and PT Telkomsel have integrated Braze’s AI‑powered customer‑engagement platform, enabling more personalized, real‑time interactions for Indonesian consumers. Meanwhile, the Pertamina Youth Program selected 50 university students to deepen energy‑literacy and support community projects such as the “Village Energy Self‑Reliant” initiative.

Other Indonesian corporations reported notable performance. PT PTPN III (Persero) posted a 10.9 % rise in first‑half sales to Rp 29.1 trillion and a 13.4 % increase in operating cash flow, reflecting the impact of its business‑transformation plan. PT Telkom Akses, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, expanded digital infrastructure by adding 366 000 new ports, laying 20 223 km of fiber‑optic cable and completing 3 417 km of tower fiberisation, reinforcing nationwide connectivity.

DHL Group continued its GoTeach programme, reaching over 2 000 Indonesian youths with career mentoring and skills training. The Ministry of Agriculture’s Plant Variety Protection Center also held a seed‑industry facilitation forum in Medan to speed up plantation‑upstream licensing.

Collectively, these initiatives illustrate a broad push by major Indonesian firms and agencies to boost entrepreneurship, sustainability, digital services and workforce readiness.
