Pertamina Plaju refinery conducts 2,500‑worker Pit Stop maintenance

Pertamina Patra Niaga Refinery Unit (RU) Plaju in Palembang began a 17‑day Pit Stop Phase II 2026, running from 27 July to 14 August 2026. The operation engaged about 2,500 contractor workers, with roughly 65 % drawn from the local workforce in South Sumatra.

Vice President of Refinery Reliability & Engineering Eko Sunarno said the maintenance aims to ensure the reliability of production facilities and sustain national energy supply. Executive General Manager Khabibullah Khanafie emphasized the three pillars of safe execution, on‑schedule completion, and right‑quality results. All participants were required to adhere to the HSSE Golden Rules, covering safety procedures, hazard reporting and environmental care. The event also featured a social‑responsibility component, delivering aid to several orphanages.

The initiative underscores Pertamina’s focus on operational safety, timely delivery, and community engagement while maintaining the refinery’s role in Indonesia’s energy infrastructure.
