Pertamina reviews Merauke terminal operations to secure eastern Indonesia energy distribution

Executives from Pertamina’s Subholding Integrated Marine Logistics (SH IML) conducted a working visit to the Merauke Special Terminal (Tersus) in South Papua to review operational reliability and energy distribution.

Anwar Saadi, President Commissioner of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), and Subagjo Hari Moeljanto, President Commissioner of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), inspected the facilities located within the Fuel Terminal (FT) Merauke, managed by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN). The visit focused on strengthening operational safety, security, and the integration of maritime services to ensure smooth energy supply to eastern Indonesia.

The Merauke terminal is considered a strategic location for maintaining national energy security, particularly due to its position in a border region. PTK’s role includes providing port services and assisting energy-carrying vessels with berthing processes to support the distribution of oil and gas.
