Pertamina tightens Biosolar oversight following subsidy misuse cases

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is intensifying supervision of subsidized Biosolar distribution following several incidents of misuse in Indonesia.

In Jayapura, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku suspended subsidized Biosolar supplies from SPBU 84.991.04 in Tanah Hitam from October 23 to 29. The sanction followed an investigation revealing transactions where vehicle license plates did not match the required QR codes, violating distribution regulations.

In Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan is also tightening oversight after local police uncovered the illegal hoarding of approximately 2,050 liters of subsidized Biosolar. Authorities seized various storage equipment, including plastic tanks and drums, and detained three individuals—a warehouse owner, a guard, and a driver—for further investigation.

Pertamina officials emphasized that these enforcement measures are necessary to ensure subsidized fuel reaches the intended recipients and to maintain transparency in the distribution process.
