Pertamina pursues organizational streamlining and dual growth strategy

PT Pertamina (Persero) is undergoing an organizational streamlining process aimed at increasing efficiency and effectiveness, with a target to complete the reorganization by the end of 2026. This transformation follows the completion of restructuring for 31 entities as of June 2026.

Parallel to this restructuring, Pertamina is implementing a ‘Dual Growth Strategy’ to support its Net Zero Emission 2060 goals. This strategy focuses on two main pillars: maximizing legacy businesses through increased upstream oil and gas production and implementing Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies, and developing low-carbon businesses such as biofuels, geothermal energy, and sustainable aviation fuel.

Additionally, the Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (PDSI) workers' union is advocating for the company to strengthen its role as a drilling competence center during this streamlining process. The union emphasizes that maintaining high-quality human resources and technical expertise is vital for energy resilience and production sustainability.
