Perth: 70-year-old man dies after being struck by garbage truck

A 70-year-old Chinese national, An Yu, died after being struck by a garbage truck in the Perth suburb of Queens Park. The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, while Yu was walking along Balaka Way.

Yu was transported to Royal Perth Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the white Volvo garbage truck, a 59-year-old male, was uninjured. Local residents reported hearing a loud noise during the time of the accident, and police are currently investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash while seeking witnesses.
