Perth Bears unveil new red and black jersey for inaugural NRL season

On August 7, 2026, the Perth Bears revealed their inaugural NRL jersey, featuring red and black horizontal stripes that honour the heritage of the foundation club North Sydney Bears.

The reveal took place from the light towers of the WACA Ground in Perth and was simultaneously shown in North Sydney. Dignitaries included ARL executive chair Peter V’landys, Western Australian Premier Roger Cook, former North Sydney forward Billy Moore and former Western Reds prop Mark Geyer. Major sponsor Cash Converters’ logo appears on the front for the first time since the Western Reds folded in 1997.

Coach Mal Meninga explained the design symbolism, noting the forward‑facing bear represents confronting challenges and the eight teeth reference the 1908 founding year and eight NSW Cup premierships. He emphasized the club’s aim to build a competitive, community‑focused destination club in Western Australia.
