Perth father dies in Bali after alleged assault

Paul Dougan, a father from Perth, Australia, has died in a Bali hospital following an alleged brutal assault while on holiday. Dougan had been in intensive care for 10 days and underwent three surgeries, including the removal of his spleen, after suffering ten broken ribs during the incident.

According to his son, Liam Dougan, the attack occurred at a bar in Kuta and was allegedly carried out by a group of up to four people, whom the family believes may be Australian tourists. The family described the incident as a targeted beating rather than an accident.

Local police reportedly visited the bar where the assault took place. An online fundraiser has been established to assist the family with medical expenses, raising over $50,000. It remains unconfirmed if any arrests have been made in connection with the attack.
