Perth Film Studios to Hold Free Public Open Days in September

Perth Film Studios will open its doors to the public for two free days in September. The career day for secondary students, teachers and industry educators runs on Friday, 11 September, offering workshops and talks on screen‑industry roles ranging from runners to line producers. Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk highlighted the event as a chance for Western Australians to see the state’s screen sector firsthand.

Saturday, 12 September is a family open day featuring live demonstrations, hands‑on workshops, a Behind‑the‑Scenes Zone and appearances by productions such as Outback Truckers and Whale Shark Jack. Ben Elton will deliver a keynote discussion, and Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti described the day as an opportunity to spark imagination across movies, games and special effects. Free tickets and the full programme will be released on 3 August, with registration required and capacity limited.
