Perth Lynx sign WNBA star Georgia Amoore

The Perth Lynx have signed WNBA rising star Georgia Amoore for the upcoming WNBL season. Amoore, the 2025 No. 6 overall draft pick currently playing for the Washington Mystics, is a Ballarat native who previously set a Kentucky single-season assists record in NCAA Division I basketball.

The signing comes as a replacement for Sami Whitcomb, who will miss the 2026/2027 WNBL season due to a lingering knee injury. Whitcomb's absence is considered a significant loss for the club following her successful stint with the Bendigo Spirit. Amoore expressed excitement about returning home to play under coach Ryan Petrik, noting her preference for a fast-paced style of play.
