Perth Mint's 521‑kg Gold Bar Sets New Guinness World Record

The Perth Mint in Western Australia has produced a 521.2 kg gold bar refined to 99.999 % purity, securing a Guinness World Record for the largest gold bar worldwide. The bar was created using Australian‑origin gold supplied by a consortium of mining companies including Evolution Mining, Gold Fields, Newmont Australia and others, and required the work of more than 35 specialists in the Mint’s refinery and assay laboratory.

Western Australia’s Mines, Petroleum and Exploration Minister Daniel Pastorelli said the project showcases the state’s refining expertise, adds value to mineral resources and reinforces the region’s reputation in gold production and processing. The achievement highlights the capabilities of the Perth Mint as a major international precious‑metals institution.
