Perth Wildcats defeat New Zealand Breakers 97-93
The Perth Wildcats secured a 97-93 NBL victory over the New Zealand Breakers at RAC Arena, marking their second win in 48 hours. Despite an 11-point second-quarter deficit and a calf injury to starting centre Jo Lual-Acuil Jr, Perth overcame the setback through strong performances by Dylan Windler, who scored 26 points, and Elijah Pepper, who contributed 25 points.
The Breakers were led by Parker Jackson-Cartwright, who recorded 30 points and eight assists. While the Breakers managed several scoring runs to take control during the first half, the Wildcats reclaimed the lead in the third period and maintained a buffer late in the game.
The win comes during a period of roster adjustments for Perth. In the absence of a natural point guard, players such as Pepper, Kristian Doolittle, and Anthony Dell'Orso have taken on playmaking duties. The team expects reinforcements soon, with Brandon Knight and Jaron Rillie anticipated to join the rotation in the coming weeks.
